I think there is something so magical about poetry—the way words are put together to evoke a feeling or create a certain atmosphere. I never had much interest when it came to poetry because I could not understand the hidden meanings and stories behind the words but as I read more, I found that I liked searching for the story and that I liked researching who the poet was, where they came from, what drastically happened in their lives that could have been the inspiration or influence for their work.
Over the years, I have read quite a few poetry books. I often had to take a bit of a break from novels by reading something short, and not only did it help but it also made my love and understanding grow for the genre.
It felt as if this month stood completely still and yet, it also flew by so quickly. It is hard to fathom that the first chapter of the new year is over. I have not read a lot this month but tried to squeeze in as many books possible in the last few days. I am going to make reading a priority this coming month and will be planning out everything that needs to get done in more detail. All my tasks kind of piled up in the last week which made January even crazier.
The first month of the year is always the busiest for me and a lot of people. We are all hurrying to catch up on the things we missed while on holiday and at the same time, we are trying to get out of that vacation mindset.
My January TBR is coming to you all quite late as I had a lot to do and worked on many things behind the scenes but nonetheless, let us look at the books I have on my list for the first month of the new year.
