About the Blogger

White Rose Stories is a blog run by a twenty-something-year-old bookworm under the pseudonym Rose White.

Rose lives on a wine farm somewhere in the peaceful countryside in South Africa and can always be found with her nose between the pages of a book and/or with her loving puppy, Zorba.

She is a full-time university student studying English and Linguistics. However, in her free time, she likes to write reviews for some of her favourite books and capture them in pictures to share with her friends, followers and the rest of the bookstagram community on Instagram. She also enjoys working with authors, publishers and local bookstores to help promote highly anticipated releases.

// “All my life, when I thought of my future, that was what I pictured. Not a career. The things I thought would come with it. Happiness, love, safety. And that dream had been enough for a long time. What was school if not a chance to earn your worth? To prove, again and again, that you were measurably good. One more deal I struck with a disinterested universe: If I'm good enough, I'll be happy. I'll be loved. I'll be safe. Instead, I've pushed away everyone I love.” —Happy Place by Emily Henry

Favourite Quote at the Moment

“What she needs are stories. Stories are a way to preserve one’s self. To be remembered. And to forget. Stories come in so many forms: in charcoal, and in song, in paintings, poems, films. And books. Books, she has found, are a way to live a thousand lives—or to find strength in a very long one.”

—The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue,
