My favourite season is here! To me, there is nothing better than snuggling with my dog under the softest blanket, drinking a cup of coffee and reading a good book whilst it rains outside. Unfortunately, that is rarely the case these days because I have been so busy with university and assignments.
I have not been reading nearly as much as I want to but I am hoping to get to at least one or two of these books over the next few months. I think they will make the perfect winter reads, and with winter solstice in two days, I just may (finally) pick up one of them.
Without further ado, let us look at my mini TBR for this season!
5 BOOKS I WANT TO GET TO BEFORE THE END OF WINTER
1. The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt

G O O D R E A D S | S Y N O P S I S
Aged thirteen, Theo Decker, son of a devoted mother and a reckless, largely absent father, survives an accident that otherwise tears his life apart. Alone and rudderless in New York, he is taken in by the family of a wealthy friend. He is tormented by an unbearable longing for his mother, and down the years clings to the thing that most reminds him of her: a small, strangely captivating painting that ultimately draws him into the criminal underworld. As he grows up, Theo learns to glide between the drawing rooms of the rich and the dusty antiques store where he works. He is alienated and in love – and his talisman, the painting, places him at the centre of a narrowing, ever more dangerous circle.
The Goldfinch is a haunted odyssey through present-day America and a drama of enthralling power. Combining unforgettably vivid characters and thrilling suspense, it is a beautiful, addictive triumph – a sweeping story of loss and obsession, of survival and self-invention, of the deepest mysteries of love, identity and fate.

Jack chose to live, and in exchange, he became a Winter—an immortal physical embodiment of the season on Earth. Every year, he must hunt the Season who comes before him. Summer kills Spring. Autumn kills Summer. Winter kills Autumn. And Spring kills Winter.
Jack and Fleur, a Winter and a Spring, fall for each other against all odds. To be together, they’ll have to escape the cycle that’s been forcing them apart. But their creator won’t let them go without a fight.
4. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

There, she meets Elias, the academy’s finest soldier. But Elias wants only to be free of the tyranny he’s being trained to enforce. He and Laia will soon realize that their destinies are intertwined – and that their choices will change the fate of the Empire itself.
5. Dracula by Bram Stoker

But business must be done, so Jonathan makes his way to the Castle – and then his nightmare begins. His beloved wife Mina and other lost souls have fallen under the Count’s horrifying spell.
