THE ENOLA HOLMES BOOK TAG

I have been wanting to do this book tag ever since I first saw it a while back, so I am super excited to do this amazing book tag by my friend Cielo from Bellerose Reads!

For this book tag, I will be typing down the first book/character that pops up in my mind because I always take forever to decide on my answer. I am one of the biggest over thinkers, what can I say.

ENOLA HOLMES — an independent and smart female protagonist.

Coraline Jones. I read Coraline by Neil Gaimana little while back and fell in love with the story a lot more than I thought I would. This character is so strong and brave. She realises that she needs to face her darkest nightmares all alone and she does so with her eyes wide open. Coraline taught me that being brave means being afraid of something but still doing it anyway, and that is something I will always keep close to my heart.

SHERLOCK HOLMES — your favourite mystery/thriller book.

It has been so long since I have read the perfect mystery/thriller book but three I loved and highly recommend are One of Us Is Next by Karen M. McManus, My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite and Crooked House by Agatha Christie.

EUDORIA HOLMES — a character that defies the rules of their society.

Maia Tamarin from Spin the Dawn and Unravel the Dusk by Elizabeth Lim. Maia is a very talented seamstress but because she is a girl, she is not allowed to be a tailor for the Emperor. Maia then disguises herself as a boy so that she can achieve her dream and save her family.

MYCROFT HOLMES — the most annoying character you know.

Oh, there are quite a few but one that first comes to mind is Tyler Cai from These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong. He is always butting in, trying to get to the top no matter the cost, and constantly undermines Juliette.

LORD TEWKSBURY — a character you want to protect at all costs.

Lehabah from House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas. I honestly want this little fire sprite as my best friend. She is one of the best little characters I have ever read about.

INSPECTOR LESTRADE — a loyal side character.

The cat from Coraline. I quite loved the cat and honestly would want my pets to talk to me as they follow me around.

MISS HARRISON — a book that aged like milk.

I do not really have an answer for this one. All the books I have read in recent years are still talked about today, so I think I’ll skip this one.

LINTHORN — a book or character you hated from the very beginning.

Amarantha from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. She is cruel, wants everything to go her way and she just nauseates me, especially when I think about what she did to Rhysand.

EDITH — your favourite book with Black rep.

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. This book was written so well and it is one I will recommend for years to come. I am really looking forward to get to the author’s other books this coming year.
