TRICK OR TREAT BOOK TAG

Today, I will be doing a book tag a bit different than the others I have done so far! I first saw this book tag from Sunstar Book s and thought it would be perfect since it is almost Halloween.

As Lucy explained in her blog post, the idea of this tag is to pick books you have read and to decide if they are a trick or a treat. To randomise the five books I will be mentioning, I asked my sister to go through the list of books I have read on my Goodreads profile and to pick any five.

1. Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah

TREAT! I absolutely loved this book! I listened to the audiobook and it was incredibly well narrated and I loved listening to him as he told his story. It is a really important and educating book and I highly recommend it.

2. Empty Bottles Full of Stories by R.H. Sin & Robert M. Drake

TREAT! I have always loved R.H. Sin’s words and this book was no different. I really enjoyed most of the poems written by these two poets and am looking forward to read more of their work in the future.

3. Evidence of the Affair by Taylor Jenkins Reid

TREAT! Oh my, where do I begin with this one? I loved this short story so much and flew through it in one short sitting. The plot twist at the end still has me in shock, to be honest.

4. Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell & Faith Erin Hicks

TREAT! This is one of the cutest graphic novels I have ever read. I loved the characters, setting and fall/halloween atmosphere. The drawings were breathtaking and it is a graphic novel I will definitely reread in the future.

5. New Moon (The Twilight Saga #2) by Stephenie Meyer

TRICK! The first book was my favourite out of all the Twilight books I have binged a few months ago. This one was one I did not really enjoy. I just felt so irritated by the characters and I struggled getting through the entire book. I still gave it a 3.5 star rating, which is not bad at all, but it just was not my favourite.
