June has been a tough month for so many people and everything that is going on will continue to for a while longer. This month, I have not been reading as much as I planned to (as I participated in six readathons) but I did take a bit of time off to relax and spend more time with my loved ones.

An Enchantment of Ravens
by Margaret Rogerson

R A T I N G :

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I was so excited going into this book as I had really high expectations for it. To be honest, it was a bit of a let down. The beginning of the novel really intrigued me but as the story went on, it felt a bit all over the place and I did loose interest a few times.

Overall, it was still a great book and I am really excited to read the author’s second book, Sorcery of Thorns.

The Lost Sisters (The Folk of the Air #1.5)
by Holly Black

R A T I N G :

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The Cruel Prince was a book I wanted to read for a long time and I finally did so in April. This month, I finally had the time to get back into this series and I really loved this short story. The beginning had me on the edge of my seat and I enjoyed reading Taryn’s story, even though I do not like her at all.

The Wicked King (The Folk of the Air #2)
by Holly Black

R A T I N G :

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Oh my gosh. This book was such a wild ride. I loved the character development in this book and was hanging onto every word written. The cliffhanger had me pulling out my hair but I am so happy I waited until the third book to binge read this series.

The Queen of Nothing (The Folk of the Air #3)
by Holly Black

R A T I N G :

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Honestly, this series took my breath away. I loved each book so much and will forever be Jude and Cardan trash. I loved this scary but magical world of fae and was so invested in this story that I could not stop reading even if I wanted to. I do not know what else to say as I am still processing everything.

A full series review will be written and posted this coming month, so make sure to keep an eye out!

Monstress Volume 1: Awakening (Monstress #1)
by Majorie M. Liu

R A T I N G :

Rating: 3 out of 5.

I have not seen these graphic novels around much but those who have read it really seemed to love it. I, however, did not enjoy it much. The drawing style was really good, though. It was my fault, honestly, as I did not know enough about this graphic novel to know this was from the horror genre. I do not think I will continue the rest of the graphic novels in the series because I am not a big fan of the genre but overall, it was still a great graphic novel.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I have been wanting to read this graphic novel since it was released and I am so excited to have finally gotten to it. I do not have much to tell you about it at the moment as I still need to finish it but I will change the rating later on if needed. It is just so cute thus far and I love the art style.

Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me

R A T I N G :

I will be posting a blog post later on with all the graphic novels I have recently read. I am planning on finishing this one later tonight, so I will let you know my rating and what I thought of it really soon!

Before I ago, here are a few things I want to mention before the month is over:

#BlackLivesMatter is important, today and every day. I added a widget to my blog this month with a link that you can check out. Please make sure to sign as many petitions as you can. They only take a few seconds and can make such a huge difference.

Cielo, from Belle Rose Reads, interviewed me a few weeks back and she posted it a few days ago as part of the Book Blogger Highlight section on her blog. It was so much fun and I learned a lot about myself and the future of White Rose Stories while answering her questions. If you are interested in checking it out, make sure to click here! Thank you once again, Cielo for interviewing me!

Also, one last little thing before I go, I started playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons this month and I am having the absolute best time (sorry TBR). If you wanted to see a few of my favourite moments from my White Rose Island, head over to my Twitter page here.

If you would like to see what my thoughts are on the books I will be reading as I read them during the month, be sure to follow me on Twitter and Instagram.

Keep reading, stay safe and never stop telling stories.

  1. Wow, you’ve had such a great reading month in June! The cover of An Enchantment of Ravens blew me away, it’s simple yet so gorgeous! Sorry to hear that it was a bit disappointing though. ✨
