Recently, I discovered The Dark Academics book club on Twitter and despite my extremely busy schedule, I decided to join.
I love the style of this book club and have also been wanting to get into the Dark Academia genre more. Being part of a book club is something I have never done before but even if most of my plans and goals for this year got canceled, it does not mean I cannot try new things to fill up my time with.

This book club is not solely focused on the one genre from what I gathered while watching the hosts’ YouTube videos. Every month a new book will be chosen for the next month and there will also be a live show on the last Saturday of every month where the month’s chosen book will be discussed.
To find out more about The Dark Academics book club, be sure to check out their Twitter and Instagram page.
This month’s book club pick is a book I have been wanting to read since it was released and I was so happy to find that it is a book I already added to my TBR for June.

Galaxy “Alex” Stern is the most unlikely member of Yale’s freshman class. Raised in the Los Angeles hinterlands by a hippie mom, Alex dropped out of school early and into a world of shady drug dealer boyfriends, dead-end jobs, and much, much worse. By age twenty, in fact, she is the sole survivor of a horrific, unsolved multiple homicide. Some might say she’s thrown her life away. But at her hospital bed, Alex is offered a second chance: to attend one of the world’s most elite universities on a full ride. What’s the catch, and why her?
Still searching for answers to this herself, Alex arrives in New Haven tasked by her mysterious benefactors with monitoring the activities of Yale’s secret societies. These eight windowless “tombs” are well-known to be haunts of the future rich and powerful, from high-ranking politicos to Wall Street and Hollywood’s biggest players. But their occult activities are revealed to be more sinister and more extraordinary than any paranoid imagination might conceive.
I am really looking forward to participating in The Dark Academics book club each month as it will force me to get to one more book for the month. Many thank yous to the hosts for creating this amazing book club!
The live show for Ninth House will take place on the 27th of June BST time.
Keep on reading, stay safe and never stop telling stories.
