At the beginning of the month, I came across the Zodiacathon Readathon—a zodiac themed readathon that I just had to join. This year, the readathon is Chinese zodiac themed which only intrigued me more.
As a Scorpio, seventy-five percent Ravenclaw and twenty-five percent Slytherin, I am quite pleased with my Chinese zodiac being a Snake. I honestly think they fit quite well with each other, plus I also found out that I share the same zodiac with the following eminent personalities: Shakira, Mahatma Gandhi, Audrey Hepburn, Abraham Lincoln, Daniel Radcliffe, Charles Darwin, and more. A bit random but I guess you can say I am quite pleased about it.

This readathon is already so much fun and it has not even begun yet! I learned many interesting things about the Chinese zodiac signs and really enjoyed choosing my TBR for this reading challenge. As it is short and only a weekend readathon, I am quite motivated to get through the two books I chose.
#StarsStayHome Zodiacathon will take place from the 16th to 17th of May. If you would like to find out more about the Zodiacathon, make sure to check out their Twitter page here.

READ YOUR SIGN CHALLENGE — SNAKE: A BOOK THAT SOMEONE YOU LOVE ENJOYS
✧ The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Other Stories by Robert Louis Stevenson

Since his first literary appearance in 1886, the murderous Mr. Hyde has embodied the evil that even good men—including his alter ego, Henry Jekyll—are capable of when the constraints of civilized life are loosed. This chilling anthology also collects nine of Stevenson’s best-known tales of horror, including “The Body-Snatcher,” “Markheim,” “Thrawn Janet,” “The Bottle Imp,” “The Isle of Voices,” “The Waif Woman,” “Olalla,” and “Will o’ the Mill.”
As the cooler weather arrives in time for winter, I have been wanting to read a classic horror. My sister and I both needed to read this book for school around the time we were in Grade 6 or 7. I remember nothing about it and as my sister still talks about it now and then, she recommended I pick it for this prompt.
READ A BOOK BY AN ASIAN AUTHOR
✧ Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. Choi

For Penny Lee high school was a total nonevent. Her friends were okay, her grades were fine, and while she somehow managed to land a boyfriend, he doesn’t actually know anything about her. When Penny heads to college in Austin, Texas, to learn how to become a writer, it’s seventy-nine miles and a zillion light years away from everything she can’t wait to leave behind.
Sam’s stuck. Literally, figuratively, emotionally, financially. He works at a café and sleeps there too, on a mattress on the floor of an empty storage room upstairs. He knows that this is the god-awful chapter of his life that will serve as inspiration for when he’s a famous movie director but right this second the seventeen bucks in his checking account and his dying laptop are really testing him.
When Sam and Penny cross paths it’s less meet-cute and more a collision of unbearable awkwardness. Still, they swap numbers and stay in touch—via text—and soon become digitally inseparable, sharing their deepest anxieties and secret dreams without the humiliating weirdness of having to see each other.
I have been wanting to read this book for the longest time and as I am reading the author’s second novel for the Asian Readathon this month (see my TBR here), I thought to pick up her first one for this readathon.
Keep on reading and never stop telling stories.

I just learned about the zodiacathon through your post, and I am joining it too! It looks so fun! Thank you for posting it.
